Flex Acceptance Email
When a student is accepted for the flex format of the course, this email template can be used to convey his/her acceptance and provide the information on how to sign up to the website:(Do NOT forget to change the XX<x>XX for the appropriate entries)

You have shown an interest in taking the Flex format of the Student Machine Shop Course. I invite you to create an account on the course website by following this link: https://sms.phas.ubc.ca/register/
From the website, you will be able to book classes and keep track of your progress. After completing the registration form, you will be automatically logged in. You should then immediately proceed to:
- Read the website instructions by clicking the (i) at the top of the page in your “Dashboard”. You will find information on the website structure and on how to book classes.
- Tell me which time slots you are available during a typical week for this term. You can do so by going in “Availability” and clicking on “Edit Availability”. This step is very important as it helps me schedule classes. I encourage you to keep your availability up to date throughout the course.
As soon as everyone has provided their availability, I will proceed with adding classes to the calendar and let you know as soon as I do so. In order to minimize the number of classes given, not all classes will appear on the calendar at once. They will be gradually added as the term progress. When new classes are added, you will be notified. Since the attendance number to a class is limited, you are encouraged to promptly visit the website and reserve a spot in your preferred time slots. Before the first class, I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the SMS basic safety rules found in attachment.
To give you a chance to see if your workload allows you to complete the SMS Course this term, we give you up to 3 modules to pay the course fee. The different methods of payment are given in the website instructions.
